We won’t delve into the specs—there are countless articles and videos that cover those details. Instead, we want to share the sheer delight of integrating the new iPad Pro 13-inch with M4 chip into our daily lives.
While the iPad isn’t ready to replace your desktop, it is certainly a strong contender for replacing your laptop.
For years, we juggled between our MacBooks and older 11” iPads. The MacBook was indispensable for on-the-go productivity, while the iPad was our preferred device for sketching ideas, reading, and entertainment. Traveling with both, however, was cumbersome, and managing both devices at airport security was a hassle.
Enter the iPad Pro 13-inch with M4 chip—the perfect solution that harmoniously merges the best of both devices. The iPad isn’t here to replicate the desktop experience; instead, it’s creating a new one.
The design of the new iPad Pro (M4) is stunning and chic, with a sleek, minimalist aesthetic. Its thin, lightweight build makes it highly portable without sacrificing performance. The brushed aluminum body feels premium and looks elegant, perfect for any setting, whether at a business meeting, airport lounge, or your favourite café.
Admittedly, it took us some time to make the switch. Initially, we questioned whether we could fully adapt to the iPad, considering potential limitations in app capabilities. The transition, however, was smoother than anticipated. The versatility of this device is astounding. For typing, the Magic Keyboard is a revelation. For creative endeavours, the Apple Pencil is indispensable. The stunning Liquid Retina XDR display is like having a mini cinema at our fingertips, offering vibrant colours and crisp details that elevate any visual task.
While not all macOS functionalities and convenient shortcuts are available on iPad iOS, the pace at which developers are adapting and creating apps for mobile use for nearly every imaginable need is impressive. In the interim, there are alternatives like Affinity, a rival to Adobe products; Pages, Apple’s powerful version of Microsoft Word; and FinalCut Pro for iPad, which all work seamlessly on the iPad and, the best part, are more cost-effective.
For most users, the full gamut of features of certain applications may not be needed, but if you rely heavily on these capabilities, you may find the iPad alone a bit lacking. And in that case, you might not be ready to fully enjoy the iPad experience.
For us, so far, the iPad Pro 13-inch (M4) has proven reliable, with impressive battery life and the capability to handle all the daily tasks we throw at it. This device has revolutionized how we work and play—nimble, powerful, and impeccably portable. Transitioning to this device was a decision we cherish. It has streamlined our workflow and lightened our travel load, making our journeys more enjoyable.
Are you ready to swap your laptop for a more streamlined and versatile device full-time? We have, and we are fully comfortable and thrilled with our switch.
